Green Zones: Empowering Youth for Natural Solutions in Community Development to Achieve the SDGs

The goal of the project is to develop the capacities of young people, enabling them to actively participate in solving environmental issues and in decision-making within their communities by introducing nature-based solutions. Thus, for the first time in Armenia, “green protective zones” were created in the enlarged community of Gavar to accumulate nitrogen and phosphorus from a diffuse discharge of wastewater from settlements and agricultural lands to prevent the pollution of the Gavaraget River and Lake Sevan.
